I worked with Neil to sell my first home and he was incredible throughout the process. I contacted him based on a family referral. As soon as we spoke, he made arrangements to meet me at my home, had comps available, and walked through my home while talking through options. It was immediately clear that Neil was knowledgeable about the neighborhood and real estate, trustworthy, and patient.
I continued to keep in touch with Neil and contacted him again when I was ready to list my house for sale a year later. As a first-time seller, I was prepared for this to be a daunting experience and it really wasn't (kudos to Neil for his expertise!). He made the process as painless as possible and it always felt like Neil was advocating for me and my best interests.
Neil was an absolute professional and I was very glad to work with him. In buying, I worked with a few realtors (not ideal experiences) and was feeling hesitant about initiating a new realtor relationship. The experience with Neil was A+ and my only regret is not working with him sooner.
At the age of 24, I purchased my first home. After going through multiple realtors and dealing with horrible experiences. I fell into not only the best realtor, but now a family friend-Neil Kugelman! With me being a young adult at the time, Neil made sure my 1st home was affordable, in a good environment, and well maintained. He dealt with all my numerous calls and late night emails while all putting a smile on his face. As we all know, buying a home is not an easy task! Neil is very professional, attentive to detail, knowledgeable, responsive, and friendly. So fast forward… I have worked with Neil for over 10yrs! We worked together on selling my first home to only create new memories in my new home. I am very grateful on being able to share this experience with Neil. He has a great team and with their expertise, my 2nd home purchase was just like the first! Not often do you find a realtor that you can trust to get the job done.
We really enjoyed our experience working with Neil. He previously worked with us as our listing agent and we were just as satisfied with him this time as our buying agent. We had a compressed timetable to find a house but this did not deter Neil. He provided us with a strategy to find a home even during a global pandemic with showing restrictions and limited housing inventory. He was knowledgeable about the neighborhoods (inventory and history) we were interested in and structural pitfalls to look out for with the older homes we were targeting. We were extremely satisfied with his accessibility, as we could contact him at any time, by phone, email or text. Neil is also a great negotiator. We had a transaction that we needed his assistance to smooth over and he represented our interests impeccably.

Neil Kugelman sold us our home in Philadelphia in October 1999. We lived there until my late husband's death and I lived there alone until the house was sold. I was very apprehensive about putting the house up for sale. I was eighty three years old and plagued by memory problems, as well as some troubling health issues, nothing serious or life threatening but formidable enough to make day to day living much harder. There was never any question about what realtor to use because I well remembered Neil's kindness and understanding, as well as his quiet efficiency, when I called him.
He answered my call himself. He said, "This is Neil." This surprised me, because in my long experience I knew how rare this was. When I spoke to him I said, "You probably don't remember me..." He certainly did remember me. I was flattered that he knew exactly where the house was and its history.
Talking with Neil was like renewing ties with an old friend. He had mailed out a newsletter every holiday season with the up-to-date word on his personal doings and the real estate scene. I always enjoyed reading it very much.
While the house was up for sale, Neil kept in constant contact with us, apprising usof how to fill out all the house-related paperwork. I was grateful for his expertise and for his outstanding qualities of sincerity and integrity.
Working with Neil was a very pleasant and professional experience. Neil’s customer service exceeded my expectations on many occasions. His attentiveness to details knowing I was not local or in the same time zone was particularly helpful. Neil’s professionalism when interacting with me or other service providers on my behalf was beneficial by giving me confidence that he could represent my intentions on a local basis. He was great at anticipating my needs and met with me for conference calls to go over details and provided adequate time to insure my questions were answered. Neil was always punctual!

He was incredibly helpful throughout the whole process, from getting pre-approved for our mortgage, to searching and visiting homes, and helping us close the deal! We first met Neil when my son was buying his first home. He was very helpful and always returned phone calls promptly. Neil was recommended to me and my wife by an acquaintance who undersold what a gem he was/is! We had VERY tight requirements and an even tighter budget, but that didn't faze him -- he saw it as an exciting challenge to serve us and NOT a burden as two previous realtors we ditched before finding Neil had intimated. In fact, he found us a home that has been great for us, negotiated a price we could pay (at a high point in the market, not like today), and he made things as right as possible when the settlement initially fell apart due to an unscrupulous seller. I could not think of using anyone else for my real state needs, not to mention that he is so nice and perceptive that we have kept in touch and I ask his advice occasionally on many matters, both financial/realty related and otherwise!
You will not only find a top-notch realtor who will doggedly represent your needs/actualize your goals in Neil but you will enjoy every minute of his company and that says a lot when you're talking about what is likely the most stressful personal transitionary time besides the treatment of a serious illness, a birth, or a loss. In a sense, I guess, you could call Neil your "domicile doctor!"

As buyers, we hooked up with Neil practically by chance. He happened to be the listing agent for a property that we liked early in our home-buying journey, and upon calling to ask about the property (which had just sold) he invited us to his office to chat. Our first trip to Neil's office would be the first of many meetings where he was willing to stay well beyond "bank hours" to accommodate our full-time work schedules. His willingness to meet us at 6:30pm on a weekday was one of our first hints that Neil went above and beyond for his clients. Neil has a knowledge of the Germantown/Mt. Airy/Chestnut Hill area and housing market that is nothing short of encyclopedic. This was perhaps the most reassuring aspect of our experience with Neil. Not only has he been in the real estate business for decades, but he's specifically worked in the Northwest Philly area for as long. For this reason he was able to explain to us why certain homes would represent a strong or weak investment, and was plenty patient with our endless questions. In answering those questions he used plain language and kept the jargon to a minimum. As first-time home buyers we appreciated this especially. Once in the houses themselves, Neil was equally confident in pointing out critical aspects of the home's construction that we might have never noticed. The distance between joists, grading/landscaping issues, insulation, are some examples of things that we didn't yet know to look for. As a quickly developing area, Mt. Airy and Germantown seem rife with shoddy rehabs, and Neil was quick to notice hints of cut corners, cheap materials, and poor construction. In the end, we wound up in a dual agency situation wherein Neil was the listing agent for a property that we were buying. This is pretty common from what I understand, but not exactly an ideal situation as it inherently involves a conflict of interests. Despite this, Neil worked hard to make sure that both the buyers and sellers were satisfied with the deal they were getting, and when all was said and done, we ended up getting a super cute house in a cute neighborhood for a fair price, and on terms that were about equally favorable to us and the sellers. All told, Neil was was a strong advocate and invaluable resource. Go Neil!

I wanted to relocate and my friend told me about this wonderful Real Estate man who had helped him with his new purchase. When I met Neil I immediately liked him. He was warm, friendly and very easy to talk to. He listened to what I wanted and why. We then had a discussion about the pros and cons of what was available both in terms of cost and where I wanted to live. Neil helped me wade through all the information that I had no idea I needed to know. Throughout he was there to hold my hand when needed. I was single with no children and absolutely knew nothing about purchasing a home, but I saw one in the Germantown section of Philadelphia that was beautiful, and so I inquired. It was the end of the 90's, and I was 23 years old when I walked into Neil Kugleman's office at Elfant Wissahickon. Although themail house I saw was already under contract, it didn't stop Neil from helping me. He did as he promised, found another just like it on a great block. Time had gone by and I'd move on from that property. 17 years later, I was ready to do it all over again! I called to see if Neil was available and he was! To make a long story short: The house I wanted appeared online on a Thursday, there were 5 offers by Monday, Neil already had me pre-approved and so I was ready to go. Neil got in there and worked hard for me as a client, and this is why I am writing this review from my new bedroom! Neil is caring, honest, and hard-working. He stays relaxed even when the client may be a ball of nerves! I had come across some overly-eagered realtors, but Neil, he will never do anything under-handed or pull any tricks out of the bag; He is forthcoming with all truths and details to protect you, the client.
